The Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple was the 10th temple built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Groundbreaking for the temple was on 3 March 1939 with the dedication by George Albert Smith on 23 September 1945. The Temple was the first to use a central spire over the celestial room with the Angel Moroni added in 1983. Most of the construction was completed by 1941. Difficulties in obtaining construction materials arose with the advent of World War II. The interior of the temple was not completed until 1945. The temple was built on the banks of the Snake River which casts a stunning reflection.
