This Kokopellies petroglpyh are located near the Needles area of Canyonlands National Park. Kokopelli was with the Ancient Ones somewhere around 200 BC to the more present times of 900 and 1200 AD. He carried over into the cultures of the 1500s with the Fremont, Mogollon and Hohokams. In the upper Rio Grande pueblos, Kokopelli wandered between the villages with bags of songs on his back. As a fertility symbol, he was welcome during corn-planting season and was sought after by barren wives, although avoided by shy maidens.
