Mesa Arch in the Island in the Sky area of Canyonlands national park is, what I consider, one of the seven wonders of the world. Several years ago I attempted to photograph the arch with snow. But, from a distance of over 700 miles it becomes difficult to accomplish, because, normally, the snow melts off the arch by afternoon. However, I found storms backing up from the coast plummeting the Moab, Utah area almost daily, which I felt was an optimum time to capture the arch blanketed with snow. Seven hundred miles later I got the image I envisioned with only one morning with a glowing sunrise.
